Composited image
There was such a swing of light in this kitchen, five different exposure levels were combined for this composite. Shot with Nikon D100 and 10-20 Sigma 10-20 EX lens locked and leveled on the tripod. Some perspective correction was still required
The JRMC Bone Exhibit at the Arts and Science Center presented a huge swing of light conditions. This is shot 1 for highlight detail.
Shot 2 for shadow detail and skeleton detail.
Finished composite. In this case, because the enivronment of the exhibit was dramatized by wide light swings, I did not balance the light levels as much as I would have for a more traditional setup. Since the bright spotlight was central to the drama of the exhibit I resisted the temptation to make it go to pixel purgatory.
There are two stages of compositing. The first is to lock the camera on a tripod and shoot the same setup at different exposure levels to capture correct levels in a wide swing of light conditions. The second is to digitally blend these images to come up with the final product. Shot at Trinity Village in Pine Bluff.
